COVID-19 – Community Wellbeing Line

A new helpline is now available for individuals living in South Lanarkshire who are self-isolating/vulnerable and whose usual support network is no longer available.

The helpline will help people to access food and other essential supplies.  The Community Engagement Team within the council have been working  along with VASLAN to collate activity which is happening within communities, and to make contact with new groups and networks which are developing in response to the current situation.

Community volunteers are playing a key role in supporting the people around them.  This includes helping transport essential goods such as food to people who cannot leave their home, carrying out welfare checks where there was a concern expressed about the wellbeing of someone, and offering telephone befriending to those who are isolated.

The helpline number is 0303 123 1009 and the opening hours are as follows:-

Monday to Thursday 8.45am – 4.45pm

Friday 8.45am – 4.15pm

Saturday and Sunday 8.45am – 4.45pm

Please pass this information on to any people that you are working with and who are self-isolating/vulnerable and don’t have any other support networks available.  If you have any questions about the helpline please email

We are seeking volunteers!

If you are interested and have some time to help our communities please email

Important Information

Dear Parents
We have been instructed by SLC, who are being guided by NHS Lanarkshire Public Health and Health Protection, to put measures in place to ensure the health and wellbeing of staff and children.  At present, we have been instructed to cancel all extra curricular activities:-
  • All after school clubs
  • All pre school clubs (this DOES NOT include the breakfast club)
  • Lunchtime clubs – Spanish and craft.
  • Primary Band at ROMPs
  • Tree planting/Wild flower planting (P3/4)
We have also been instructed to postpone
  • Parent Consultations
  • The Voice Project (Choir Children)
  • All sporting events, Netball Festival, Football Festival, Cross Country final etc.
  • P5 Swimming
  • Book Fair
We have been instructed to cancel all visitors/parent helpers to the school. We hope to  welcome everyone back to parent helping once this situation is over.
I assume that the same will apply to visits for P7 children and their parents to Lanark Grammar for e.g. the Science Fair this Thursday and any future events until further notice.
Hopefully this message covers all upcoming events, but forgive me if I have missed anything – we are such a busy school, that no doubt something will have slipped through the net, but please consider all forthcoming events postponed/cancelled.
With regard to our end of term service, I will be seeking advice and will let parents know if this will go ahead as planned.
